HEI’S AND SME’S COOPERATION MODELS: EXPERIENCE AND TRENDS

Abstract

This paper focuses on HEI’s and SME’s cooperation challenges in the European Union in general and in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) in particular. The article describes the present state of University-Business cooperation on a European level as well as reports recent experiences from Finland, Latvia and Lithuania. The authors also introduce new intensions and plans to research and create cooperation models between universities and businesses, with the main success criteria being – sustainability.
